The Caring Generation

I’m Pamela Wilson, spokesperson and guardian of The Caring Generation®. I teach caregivers to care for themselves and others so that relationships rather than being burdensome or guilt filled remind us that life is precious and our time on earth short.

The role of a caregiver isn’t a role we expect  — until one day we find ourselves as a caregiver because of a surprising event or health emergency.  Caregiving is overwhelming and stressful, placing caregivers and those needing care at great risk of receiving inaccurate advice or being taken advantage of financially or emotionally.  An underground industry exists of providers seeking to profit from “selling seniors” by not revealing information about reimbursements, payments or contracts. Caregivers and those needing care, especially in crises situations are too overwhelmed to ask the right questions and sometimes end up in regrettable situations or making poor decisions.

The Caring Generation was born from an idea to bring the generations together and provide information and education for caregivers and those needing care to support making the best decisions about care needs and daily life.  Older adults desire to be treated with respect and dignity, not pressured by family members to make sweeping changes.  Adult children worry about parents and feel pressured to take action.

You’ve arrived at our free library of over 2 years of weekly radio programs divided up into subject matter, stories and expert interviews.

To help me continue to provide content relative to caregiving situations, I ask that you register and describe your role as a caregiver.  You’ll then have access to hours of content you can access anytime day or night.  I hope this information supports you in your caregiving journey.  Thank you for visiting The Caring Generation.  Enjoy!
